Steven Weyland, CFA
Certified Wellness Coach

My professional career spans over 30 years in the financial industry. I enjoyed working for some of the most prestigious firms on Wall Street, including Pimco, Blackrock, and J.P. Morgan. In client-facing positions, I helped manage the relationships of wealthy families. During this time, I began to recognize a void in how we, in the industry, supported individuals and their families. Based on the common assumption of rational investing, we can statistically show the proper amount of money to set aside and where to position things so a person can retire, pay fewer taxes, save for education for loved ones, etc. However, the
"Real" vs. "Ivory tower" world is fraught with emotions that would get in the way of rationality. Additionally, as the clients felt more comfortable opening up about their wealth and family issues, they conveyed personal regrets, frustrations, and an unhappy or unfulfilled life.
My responsibilities only focused on the structure and deployment of assets; they did not require a focus on such aspects. Holistic Wealth management is the goal of every advisor; with an avenue for clients to offer solutions to this problem, we would stay within reach.
As I honed in on my passion, I recognized the value of a unique type of asset manager, so I shifted to helping people invest in their "Human Capital." Thus, I completed health and wellness certification through Duke's Integrative Medicines Program.

Human Psychology and emotions are at the center of wealth because, from Maslow's hierarchy of needs, it takes wealth to provide the aspects that allow us to survive autonomously.

Coaching people where they are today and helping them feel more in control of where they want to go can help redirect their efforts to a more fulfilling future, regardless of age. These traits reveal the inescapable human element in us all; understanding how to visualize the desired future and setting the goals to achieve these non-monetary issues is just as important as growing and protecting your wealth.

Throughout the years, I looked to successful people for advice. Warren Buffett, one of our time's wealthiest yet grounded individuals, has two pieces of advice. "In the business world, the most successful people do what they love." And secondly, "The most important investment you can make is in yourself."
For those who want to improve their self-growth, I am here to serve individuals in unlocking the treasure within them.
